Rax Vorn: Development logbook

This is my Response to a studio Live brief in which i was asked to create a Stylised Sci-fi sheriff/ outlaw. i chose the latter. in this project youll see research that led me to creating the artifact in question from the stage of making a concept, scarpping it and restarting, to then the final product as presented in engine.

Name: Rax Vorn
Alias: The Iron Ember
Backstory:
Rax Vorn hails from the shattered moon of Concordia, a survivor of the shadow wars that engulfed the remnants of Mandalore after the Great Purge. Born into the fading traditions of the Death Watch, Rax was trained in ancient combat rites and weapon forging by his war-hardened father, a former commander who turned mercenary.

When his clan was ambushed and annihilated by rogue Imperial remnants seeking to claim beskar for their own, Rax was left for dead under the ruins of a mining colony. He survived by sheer will—and vengeance. Donning armor forged from salvaged beskar and battlefield scraps, he upgraded it with a custom jetpack, shoulder-mounted cannons, and a modified disruptor rifle.

The red and black color scheme represents mourning and vengeance in his clan’s code. The yellow stripe on his helmet marks him as Oath-Bound, a Mandalorian who has sworn a blood promise that cannot be broken.

Now, he operates in the Outer Rim as a bounty hunter and enforcer, earning the name Iron Ember for his silent but devastating strike tactics and scorched-earth methods. But his true mission is deeper—he seeks the elusive warlord who ordered the extermination of his people.

Rax Vorn walks a path of fire, honor, and retribution. His loyalty lies not with a creed, but with justice carved in beskar.
